Luminaries in Winter Garden at the Brookfield Place World Financial Center, New York City
I don't know a city in the world which prepares to Christmas and New Year's more than New York! The Big Apple plunged into the pre-holiday bustle since the end of November - beginning of December. There are dressed Christmas trees, decorated facades of houses, decorated trees with garlands and balloons lighting and hundreds of New Year's Events... These are Christmas markets, musicals, a lot of kinds of events, exhibitions. I have shown New Year's shopwindows and decorations of stores of New York in my Blog before. Now, I'm publishing a post about Luminaries in Winter Garden at the Brookfield Place World Financial Center, New York City.
The city goverment of the Big Apple probably decided to compensate shortcoming of sunlight and warm in winter via this light installation to Christmas and New Year's. Because, Luminaries is a tent with mesmerizing holiday lights which changes colors and brightness time to time. You can see it until January, 29 2017! This miracle was created by LAB at Rockwell Group.
Authors of Luminaries decided to add New Year's flavor to this installation. They made addition to holiday lights. These are touch-sensitive "wishing stations" on the ground. These machines invite visitors to send a holiday wishes which will be materialized as a burst color above your head. Technology of sending of wishes is very simple:
- Put your hands on the cube for 3 seconds.
- Send your wish.
- Raise your hands up.
That's all! You have to wait when your wish comes true! :)
