Therefore, there is a special place called ''South of the Border" approximately in the middle of the way on the border of South and North Carolina, where all the tourists make a great stop.

What is the ''South of the Border"? This is a Mexican-style complex with hotels, gas stations, cafes and restaurants with Mexican cuisine, Mexican souvenir shops, attractions, a mini-golf course and even an exhibition of reptiles. The symbol of ''South of the Border" is the Mexican Pedro, whose figure is here on every corner. And also cactuses, sombreros... You can not only to stop and eat here, but often people stay in hotels for the night.

There are also those who arrange for themselves in ''South of the Border" a piece of rest - are photographed, ride on attractions, in general, do not rush to Miami. We do not belong to such people. We already bought a hotel, so we rushed to MIami "on all the pairs", so that the days would not go away (hotels in Miami Beach are several times more expensive per night than the hotels of ''South of the Border" ). ''South of the Border" was built in 1950 by Alan Schafer. It was started with a beer shop, then Shafer added a refueling, a cocktail store, a Mexican souvenir shop and a hotel. As an advertisement, the businessman used sombrero at first, and then added the Mexican, Pedro.
